The services we run
Continuous ingestion
We poll the public paging feeds, official warning products and weather sources around the clock, normalise their wildly different formats, and geocode what arrives. When a source changes shape — which happens without notice — we fix it, not you.
Fusion and deduplication
A single incident often appears in several feeds with different wording, timing and spelling. We match those into one record so counts mean something and your map is not three pins for one fire.
The durable record
Everything that passes through is retained with its timeline, units and the weather that applied — so the history and analysis views have something real to draw on long after the original feed entry has scrolled away.
Hosted maps and tiles
Basemap tiles are served through our own infrastructure rather than sending your browser to a third party — faster on a poor connection, and no external origin watching you read.
Availability and protection
Rate limiting, abuse detection and edge protection keep the service standing during the exact events that drive the most traffic — a major fire is when it must not fall over.
Ongoing development
New surfaces, new sources and fixes ship continuously and are included in your plan. There is no upgrade cycle and no version to buy again.

Support
- Direct support. Questions and problems reach the people who build the product, not a ticket queue.
- Source problems are our problem. If an upstream feed breaks or changes format, fixing it is part of the service.
- Your data stays yours. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers. Delete your account and it goes.
Common questions
Is IncidentWatch an official emergency service product?
No. IncidentWatch is independent and is not affiliated with SA MFS, SA CFS, SA SES, SA Ambulance Service or any other emergency service. It aggregates publicly available information. Always call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency.
Will it alert me when something happens near me?
IncidentWatch is a monitoring and situational-awareness tool, not an alerting system. Do not rely on it to warn you. Official warnings come from the emergency services and the Bureau of Meteorology.
Why do I need an account for the free pages?
The upstream feeds are rate limited and finite. An open, unauthenticated mirror would be scraped heavily enough to put that access at risk. An account lets us apply fair per-user limits and keep your saved regions and views. It is free and needs no card.
How current is the information?
Feeds are polled continuously and most surfaces update within moments. Public sources can still be delayed, incomplete or incorrect — every entry carries its timing so you can judge it rather than having to trust it.
Can I cancel whenever I want?
Yes. Cancel from your account page at any time; your plan runs to the end of the period already paid for and then reverts to Free. Your account and saved settings remain.
